Ken Burger, D.B.A.
 
 
Bio

Dr. Burger has extensive experience working with companies on both strategic and brand management issues.  He has spent over 30 years advising companies in strategic planning; portfolio management; technology/market/industry assessments; segmentation analysis as well as product & brand management.  He has helped both well-established and start-up companies develop and launch new products as well as other growth initiatives including entry into new markets.  His past clients included public, not-for-profit and private sector organizations engaged in Hi-tech, R&D, IT, engineering, telecommunications, computer services, medical and professional services. 

 

In addition, Dr. Burger has consulted in the area of marketing research firms including the design and management of research projects designed to evaluate the potential for new products or markets.  He has also developed and conducted training to improve business processes related to new business and product development, product & brand management, sales & sales management, and customer service and customer relationship management. He has also worked extensively with start-up companies to develop their strategic and operational plans, seek funding and implement successful product launches.

 

Dr. Burger received his doctorate in Business from the University of Kentucky with a major in Marketing and a double minor in Statistics and Management Science.  He also holds an MBA and BS in Engineering. 

 

Dr. Burger has held faculty positions at the University of Virginia, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and Regent University before coming to Trevecca Nazarene University, where he is currently the Director of Graduate Business Programs and a
full professor in both the graduate and undergraduate business programs.  While on
the faculty at the University of Virginia, he directed their Business Development Center.  He also directed the Executive MBA program at Regent University.  Before earning his doctorate degree, he served in the United States Air Force as chief of an engineering team in the Pacific Rim region and later as a program and systems analyst at the Pentagon. 

 

Dr. Burger is married to Beverly and has three grown children and one grandson.
