Associate Professor School of Education

Coordinator, Master of Arts in Teaching

The Master of Arts in Teaching K-6 & 7-12 are non-traditional programs designed to accommodate working adults who have an undergraduate degree in a field other than elementary education (or for 7 - 12 candidates who have an undergraduate degree in one of the content areas of study available at TNU) and who desire teacher licensure at the K-6 or 7 - 12 level. Students may also satisfy Content Knowledge requirements in the 7 - 12 program by passing all of the Praxis II tests required by the specific discipline in which licensure is sought.

These five semester programs are comprised of thirty hours of course work and six hours of student teaching or evidence of successful teaching as "teacher of record." (Student teaching is waived for those students who meet the experience requirement.).
